Venue Insight February Issue

Spring is just around the corner and with that comes an abundance of new openings, refurbs, events and ultimately excitement for the warmer months ahead. We’re all so tired of the doom and gloom, so let’ start looking forward!

Where to begin!? Popular Leeds-based Cafe bar, Residence 74 is set to expand with a third venue due to land in Headingley next month. Côte restaurants have launched a special Alpine menu to celebrate traditional ski cuisine. Leeds based music festival The Garden Party Weekender is returning in May for their huge 2023 soiree. Soul Town Festival is back once again with a stunning line-up of the best soul, disco, Motown and reggae on September 2nd and 3rd 2023. And finally, 90s Baby are bringing the biggest acts of the era to Manchester Arena in October.

An Absinthe bus you say? Yes it’s a real thing. Absinthe revival pioneer George Rowley purchased her as a marketing tool in 2000, the year La Fée returned commercial Absinthe distilling to France. La Fée Absinthe needed a form of transport to get them to all the festivals and parties, so they bought one, painted it Absinthe-green and off it went!

Opening this month on 14‑15 March at Manchester Central, Northern Restaurant & Bar, sponsored by Uber Eats, is set for its best show yet. Thousands of hospitality professionals are coming together and registering for their industry show after the full live demo timetable was announced, with top names taking to the stage. Do not miss this incredible event!

Celebrate this Margarita Day with a Rooster Rojo cocktail. With Dry January and Valentine’s Day behind us by then, the perfect excuse for a cocktail menu refresh comes on the 22nd February, International Margarita Day. We bring you a superb riff on the classic cocktail using the brand admired by bartenders across the globe: premium Mexican Rooster Rojo Tequila.
