Venue Insight August Issue - OUT NOW

How about this for a summer?! It’s been a small mercy for the hospitality industry which once again, and very cruelly after a horrific couple of years finds itself at the heart of the cost of living crisis. With spiralling energy costs now taking their toll and with the fear of things only getting more out of hand in the winter and into the New Year, can the sector just keep rolling with the punches? Fingers crossed the summer can extend right through September and well into October to give operators a bit of a buffer. One thing is for sure, the industry will take on the challenge, as it always does.

Exclusive research in HEINEKEN UK’s Beer Report has revealed younger generation beer drinkers are driving the move away from classic lagers toward more premium brands. They are also pushing innovation in No and Low Alcohol beer. The report shows the changes in the beer industry over the last few years and investigates the differing tastes of new generation beer drinkers.

Events and openings as always are in full flow. Europe’s largest and most exciting leisure industry expo splashes down in London next month as UK tourism and attractions ride the wave of recovery. IAAPA Expo Europe returns to the capital for the first time since 2011. Plonk Golf have launched an underground crazy golf labyrinth. Hidden in the arches underneath Borough High Street, Plonk has harnessed London’s energy into 9 holes of putting madness surrounded by custom graffiti. Voodoo Doll, the company behind the successful group of MOJO Bars has announced two new sites, in Newcastle and Edinburgh, plus a new central site in Liverpool.

If you are looking to extend the summer fun in your venue, prepare now for Coconut Day on 2nd September and, better still, start serving this new cocktail from Rooster Rojo Tequila over the coming weeks.

Cheers
