Venue Insight September Issue - OUT NOW

Summer finally turned up then! Fingers crossed for a warm and dry September, so that the industry can really start to focus on its long and hard recovery. Venues are not too far away from operating as they were prior to March 2020, BUT many are still struggling to claw back the huge losses suffered and any further setbacks like a winter lockdown could be catastrophic. Vaccine passports are likely to be a huge headache for most operators too. Let’s just hope that common sense prevails if they prove to be a hindrance and not a help. We catch up with our good friend Sally McGill – Commercial Director at Enomatic UK. Enomatic, the world leader in wine dispense and preservation, has its UK base in Norwich. Sally explains how the wine serving system is helping our hospitality industry. The new openings don’t seem to be slowing down which is amazing to report on. Premium bar operator Arc Inspirations is set to expand its successful portfolio of brands with two new openings – BOX, Deansgate, Manchester and its first ever site in the Midlands with Manahatta, Birmingham. SALT– An award-winning craft brewery & winner of SIBA UK’s Best Independent Craft Brewery taproom is set to open SALT Leeds– Craft & Cocktails in Leeds City Centre today. The venue formerly known as Craft Asylum #2, has created a stylish beer and cocktail drinking destination just round the corner from one of Leeds’ most popular nightspots, Greek Street. Award-winning bar group, MOJO has announced their further expansion with plans to open a new bar in Sheffield. FOXDEN, a new burger restaurant specialising in high quality, beefy delights, has arrived in south-west London. Spearheaded by owner Paul Foxon, who spent his childhood on the family’s beef farm in Warwickshire, FOXDEN takes pride in creating the best gourmet burgers possible. Hawthorn, the Community Pub Company, has announced the creation of its new Operator Managed platform – Proper Pubs. Consisting of around 20% of the Hawthorn estate, Proper Pubs are wet-led community pubs, focused on providing a great range of drinks at good value prices, with entertainment offerings for the whole community.
