Venue Insight September Issue
As we press on into the last throws of summer, the new openings throughout the land show no signs of letting up. The Viaduct is a brand new multi-site venue that offers a 360-degree experience encompassing innovative food, drink and cocktails in the heart of Shoreditch. The Ivy Asia will be launching its Asian-inspired concept in Leeds this autumn. The much-anticipated opening is set to add to the already growing Yorkshire dining scene as well as creating 110 jobs for the local community. New Briggate has welcomed brand-new independent bar, Delirium and Revelry which is now open and promises the people of Leeds inventive cocktails, eclectic music, and vintage-inspired interiors with a modern spin.
We catch up with our good friend Sally McGill – Commercial Director at EnoDirect – UK Distributor for Enomatic - the world leader in wine dispense and preservation, who has its UK base in Norwich. Sally explains how the wine serving system is helping our hospitality industry.
Christmas comes early with Central Foods who provide some great insight on how to prepare yourself for the festive season and those all-important menus. The frozen food distributor has a wide selection of tasty food products available to ensure that venue operators can create a real cracker of a Christmas for their customers.
Here are a couple of delicious serves that should grace any drinks menu. Rooster Rojo Tequila bring us an original cocktail recipe – The Pineapple and Banana Julep showcasing the Smoked Pineapple variant. The cocktail features just four ingredients and so is quick and easy to create – yet the apparent simplicity belies the complexity of the taste. The Chill Bill, with just two elements, Kwai Feh Lychee Liqueur and Bitter Lemon, is as simple to create as a G&T yet lower in alcohol. It is complex in taste, despite the simplicity of the method. Both brands are distributed in the UK by Amber Beverage UK.
