With Summer now neatly packed away, we can start to look forward to the cosy Autumn nights and also start to think about the festive season which is so massively important to hospitality. Let’s hope and pray that it’s not a repeat of last Christmas!!!

We hear from Peter Moore - CEO at Lolly, on the importance that technology plays in active allergen awareness. With the introduction of Natasha’s Law on October 1st, allergens are again being highlighted across the hospitality industry and the wider news. An estimated 1-2% of adults and 5-8% of children suffer from food allergies in the UK. Hospital admissions due to allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock are also on the rise, so it’s critical that hospitality providers are actively managing allergens within their business – protecting their customers, but also their own reputations.

The raft of new openings is showing no signs of letting up which is fantastic. The resilience that the hospitality industry has shown in the last 18 months is truly astonishing. London will be transported into the European headiness of the Alps by The Curling Club in two iconic locations, The Langham, and in Finsbury Square. Puttshack, the world’s first and only upscale, tech-infused mini golf experience, has confirmed plans to open its newest UK site in Watford, just in time for Christmas 2021. One of London’s newest clubs, Werkhaus, relaunches after Covid with some of London’s finest promoters and international acts all booked in over the next few months.

The drinks industry brought its ‘A-Game’ in the much‑anticipated return of Imbibe Live - the UK’s leading drinks industry event. Imbibe Live is celebrating the return of in‑person events after its much‑anticipated return to Olympia, London. Taking place on 13th-14th September, Imbibe Live gave the drinks and hospitality industry a chance to reconnect after a very challenging time, as it brought together more than 140 exhibitors and visitors from across the sector including leading operators, distributors, retailers, hotel managers, bartenders and publicans.

Brockmans Gin is celebrating the arrival of Autumn with a richly delicious cocktail: Drop Dead Fred. It’s to die for……..

Good luck heading into the new season.
