It took its time, but summer has finally arrived. Let’s hope that we have a scorching summer and that the industry can recoup some of the huge losses incurred this winter.


With the summer season well and truly open, it’s time to welcome back the Summer Outdoor Living Exhibition (SOLEX), Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th July 2023 at the NEC, Birmingham. This three-day event unites the most prestigious luxury outdoor brands, giving quality buyers and visitors an opportunity to explore what’s new in both retail and contract markets. Wellnergy is a truly unique experience that brings together the five pillars of mindfulness, fitness, food, music and laughter. It takes place on the 17th of June at Barn Elms Sports Centre, London, with a mission to create a wholesome experience that focuses on personal growth and developing the mind, body and soul for a more fulfilling life - the festival is a culmination of that vision. Imbibe Live, the UK’s leading drinks industry event, is set to return this July, with two new live trade competitions, The Big Pitcher and The Great Imbibe Live Shake Off, joining a highly engaging schedule of innovative keynotes, tastings and masterclasses positioned to meet the needs of leaders from across both the off and on-trade. New insight identifies which consumers have the most influence in deciding which hospitality venues to visit and the factors influencing their decisions. The latest GO Technology report from leading hospitality tech provider Zonal and insight firm CGA by NIQ, reveals that those aged 55+ are the key decision makers when it comes to choosing which hospitality venues to visit. The data shows that 40% of ‘influencers’ are aged over 55 – nearly double the number who are aged under 25 years old (21%).
