Treasury Wine Estates Adds Pinot Grigio to On-Trade Wine Range, Coastal Reserve

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) is expanding its on-trade exclusive range of vegan certified wines, Coastal Reserve, with the launch of an Italian Pinot Grigio.
Coastal Reserve Pinot Grigio will be the fourth varietal in this ethically-minded wine range, which has been created to provide consumers with a more sustainable choice on wine menus.
Launching in a 75cl format, and with notes of fresh citrus, green apple, honey and a vibrant palette, the new wine has been designed to complement the existing Coastal Reserve varietals including Merlot from Spain, Sauvignon Blanc from France and Pinot Grigio Rosato from Italy.
The entire range is certified Vegan and approved by The Vegan Society. TWE has also made conscious supply chain and packaging choices to minimise the environmental impact of the brand. This includes using light-weight bottles and labels made from 100% recycled paper.
Throughout 2021 Coastal Reserve partnered with not-for-profit organisation, Plastic Oceans Europe, and has donated £25,000 in profits to date. This partnership will continue throughout 2022 and will focus on raising awareness around sustainability and encouraging consumers to make informed choices in order to reduce plastic pollution.

Tony Watson, General Manager, at Treasury Premium Brands, says:
“Following the continued success of Coastal Reserve in the UK on-trade, we are adding a Pinot Grigio to the range. As one of the best-selling wine varietals in the on-trade, it is more important than ever to make Pinot Grigio a part of your wine list and we expect the Coastal Reserve varietal in particular to appeal to a younger demographic of pub goers who also seek environmentally friendly products and brands that have a purpose.
We are also delighted to extend our brand partnership with Plastic Oceans Europe into the coming year. As a business with a global agricultural footprint, we understand the importance of managing the critical impacts and ongoing risks associated with climate change, and our partnership with Plastic Oceans Europe gives us the opportunity to help further support and address important issues around plastic pollution.”
Andrea Torres, Director, Plastic Oceans Europe, says:
“What a wonderful opportunity to be able to partner with Treasury Wine Estates for another year. Coastal Reserve is truly a brand to be excited about. The transparency of their sustainable efforts demonstrated over the past year, and laid out for the future, is proof that positive change can happen within large companies. It is imperative that businesses, large or small, work to have sustainability at the forefront of their product, packaging or service creation. Treasury Wine Estates is leading the way for the wine industry. We would encourage all businesses to reach out and seek consultation from organisations such as ours and make that major step in the right direction.”
