Horse & Groom Pub With Rooms Re-Opens Stronger With Full Refurbishment

British entrepreneurs and husband and wife duo John Ayton MBE and Annoushka Ducas MBE have transformed their West Sussex local The Horse & Groom, into a heart-warming and stylish bolthole for the community and visitors alike.

Having co-founded two highly successful brands Links of London and Annoushka, entrepreneur John and jeweller Annoushka saw an opportunity to turn their local 200-year old pub into a cornerstone of the East Ashling community once more.

Under new ownership from December 2019, The Horse & Groom, a 200-year-old former blacksmith’s shop has been extensively redesigned, offering a welcoming bar, cosy restaurant and 10 luxury rooms. Co-owner Annoushka’s design eye can be spotted throughout, pairing a lilt of luxury with original historic details and well-loved rustic charm.

Only a short drive or an hour’s train ride from London, The Horse & Groom is an accessible retreat from city life and is ideally located just 4 miles from Chichester. Nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park, The Horse & Groom is at the core of some of the best country walks in the area, and a centre point to some breath-taking National Trust properties and places of interest including the Goodwood Estate, Chichester Cathedral, Arundel Castle, Pallant House Gallery and Fishbourne Roman Palace.

The Horse & Groom boasts a delicious seasonal menu using the best locally sourced produce the area has to offer, served amongst contemporary art and 20th century paintings from the family’s collection.

The 10 charming, spacious rooms with rustic exposed beams and muted relaxed tones offer a restful and tranquil space to lay your head.
