There's nothing like Christmas at Backyard Cinema - fresh from launching their new venue, and in demand as one of London's favourite Christmas fixtures, they are back with a brand new Christmas adventure. 'Christmas at The Snow Kingdom' promises a spellbinding escape from reality and a cosy Christmas experience all wrapped up in one. Guests must first uncover a hidden entrance to a secret underground passageway - if they are able to navigate the magical ball pit river, and find the password, they will gain entry to The Snow Kingdom, where they can relax on Backyard’s famous giant bean bags and fall in love with their favourite Christmas films all over again. The programme is an incredible mix of new releases, sing-a-longs and old faves, including Elf, The Holiday, Love Actually, The Lion King (2019), Home Alone, The Greatest Showman and Die Hard.

Talking about Christmas at the Snow Kingdom, Dominic Davies, founder and creative director, Backyard Cinema, said: "Christmas is such a magical time of year at Backyard Cinema, there is something truly magical about it. We love seeing how many people come back year on year making it their Christmas tradition so we have added a new take on an old theme and added more wonder and surprise to accompany their favourite Christmas film. Tickets sell out fast though, so make sure you get yours.”

Christmas at The Snow Kingdom takes place at the newly refurbished Capital Studios, which has become much more than a space for Backyard Cinema's well known immersive cinema: visitors can expect 'The Studio Bar', to be fully decorated and draped in Christmas spirit, mulled wine, cocktails on tap, beer and artisan pizza, accompanied by live music; 'The Annex', a 10 tap craft beer bar with Gipsy Hill Brewing Co. at the helm, and residencies from Mother Clucker & Honest Burgers in 'The Yard', a huge heated and seated courtyard. With feasting tables to fit parties big and small, Capital Studios offers the ultimate all-day and night Christmas hangout for locals, families and film buffs alike.

Honest Burgers are on hand serving a selection of their British beef favourites and a bespoke ‘Backyard Burger’ complete with tangy Backyard mayo and tobacco onions, whilst the London-wide acclaimed Mother Clucker bring their signature southern-fried chicken to the table. Also joining the team, DÁPPA will be serving up the UK’s only plant-based soft scoop ice cream alongside a craft beer offering of the highest standard from Gipsy Hill’s very own on-site craft beer bar set in the atmospheric annex, decorated to the nines for festive fun.

Originally created in its founders back garden, and later as a roaming, pop-up cinema, Backyard Cinema has been known best for running themed seasons of films in different locations including Winterville, Camden’s Roundhouse and Winter Wonderland.
