Junkyard Golf Club Announces New Permanent Home in East London

Having taken the UK by storm since launching in 2015, Junkyard Golf Club has announced it will be opening its first permanent site in London, in Broadgate Quarter campus.

Located just off of Liverpool Street and set to open in November this year, the new location will occupy a 12,000 sq ft unit in Broadgate Quarter, and will eventually replace the pop up in The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, which opened in 2016. The new site will join permanent homes in four other major UK cities: Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Oxford. For more information, visit www.junkyardgolfclub.co.uk.

Over the last four years, Junkyard Golf Club has revolutionised the world of crazy golf; building innovative environments that put a unique and immersive spin on the traditional game, complete with cocktail bars and scrapyard decor. Born after a night of Pina Coladas and crazy golf on a stop off on the US Overseas Highway, Junkyard Golf Club first popped up in Manchester in 2015, with a course made from eBay purchases and charity shop finds. Since then, the brand has created permanent homes in four major cities across the UK, as well as a temporary site in The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane which, since 2016, has attracted over 400,000 visitors a year. This incredible success has informed the decision to open a permanent site in the capital this winter.

Sam Jones, Commercial Director of Junkyard Golf Club said: “We are delighted to have finally found a permanent location in London. After 3 hugely successful years as a pop up in the Truman Brewery, this move begins the next step on our journey to make Crazy Golf epic. The London Yard will be the biggest and weirdest to date and we can’t wait to open the doors and show off our new home.” Occupying a massive 12,000 sq ft space, the new site will feature four cocktail bars and four nine-hole crazy golf courses, including a brand new, never before seen course based on the theme of acid house. With unparalleled connections to the rest of the capital, it will be situated just three minutes’ walk from Liverpool Street, and within seven minutes’ walk of both Shoreditch High Street and Moorgate stations. Junkyard Golf Club operates in fun and stimulating spaces that stand out from the crowd. Venues that are friendly and personable but encourage curiosity with a sense of humour. Junkyard Golf Club is here to make crazy golf epic, breaking away from the norms and letting people from all walks of life play, drink and eat side by side.
