Kindred, a New Members Club, Launches to Challenge the Social Status Quo

Promising to spark human connections, inspire bigger conversations and create unforgettable experiences, Kindred showcases the most exciting ideas emerging in London, exclusively for members

Kindred is a members’ club for those who want to amplify their work, create meaningful connections with others, and have a more dynamic social life. Housed in a three floor, Grade II listed building in the heart of Hammersmith, the club encourages members to get to know each other, share their ideas and treat the house like home. From the speaker supper club series and breakfast networking, to wellness classes and piano sing-a-longs, Kindred holds human connection at its heart and has set out to become a stronghold for community.

Kindred, a new members’ club for the passionate, curious and open-minded, has launched in the heart of Hammersmith. Opening doors to non-members for one weekend only (23-24th March), guests will be privy to the array of cultural activities and inspirational talks placed firmly at its heart. With over 9 million people in the UK maintaining they are always or often lonely, Kindred has been designed to offer its members a tangible social network; a place for face to face human connection, both professional and personal. Housed in a Grade ll listed building, east London-based architect, Studioshaw has redesigned the building to offer an all-day café and bar on the ground floor, and beautiful spaces for co-working, events and dining on the first and top floors.

Inspiring spaces

With a shared passion for new ideas and having bigger conversations about change, Kindred has established a unique relationship with TED; the owner of TED being one of Kindred's main financial backers. Kindred aims to be a destination for TEDx collaborations, TEDSocial events, and regular screenings of TED Talks. In addition, Kindred’s events calendar is filled with a series of Speaker Supper Clubs, 60-second networking sessions, film screenings and wellness lates, plus live music, happy hour, and themed nights to help members build friendships and connections through the sharing of unforgettable experiences.

Chris Anderson, Head of TED and Kindred Ambassador, said:

“If there’s one thing that TED has shown me, it’s that when you bring together curious, open-minded people from different disciplines, amazing things can happen. People spark off each other. New ideas are ignited. Unexpected collaborations emerge. Kindred captures this spirit to the max, offering an inspiring home to those who don’t just want to make a living, but want to dream, and learn and grow. I’m excited to be part of it, and will be hanging out there every time I visit London.”

Exclusive speaker events and live music

Opening its doors to the community for one weekend, 23-24th March, guests will be treated to morning yoga, intuitive art, mindful kung fu, cocktail masterclasses, wine tasting, supper clubs, family hackathons, and more… all with 50% off the food menu for the weekend. It’s a chance for the London community to explore the space, eat, drink and connect with one another in the Kindred way. Some ticketed, some free, guests can find out more about the events here.

Kindred’s Head Chef, Romulo Silva, believes that the simple act of sharing food can help build stronger and more resilient communities, and this ethos has inspired the restaurant’s communal dining concept. Challenging restaurant norms, Silva is offering hearty sharing dishes such as West Sussex Porchetta w/ candied apples and Vegan Butternut Squash Wellington w/ rainbow chard, to be shared, amongst friends and neighbours alike on large feasting tables. Less of an intimate affair - instead built around community spirit, the dining experience offers much more than just great food, wrapped up in an intimate setting enhanced by a roaring fire and live music.

Sharing dishes and delicious cocktails

Anna Anderson, Co-Founder and Director, said: "We recognise community means something different to everyone, so we’re so excited to introduce a space that reimagines what community could be like in a modern city for modern people; a place where you can spend your whole day, meet new people, have interesting conversations and eat great food. If we’re doing our job right, Kindred will feel like a home away from home."

Full Kindred Memberships are £90 per month for a limited time, which includes all day access, exclusive events, use of co-working spaces, discounted meeting rooms, private dining rooms, and extended happy hour.
