Blog: Cleaners in the Spotlight: Thank Your Cleaner Day™ 2018

Cleaning is one of the most important industries in the world yet is often undervalued by those who benefit from the service. Every day tens of thousands of skilled, hardworking cleaning staff are onsite to ensure premises, working and living environments are kept clean, safe and hygienic ensuring they are ready to go for the next business day.

Originating in New Zealand in 2015, and now in its fourth year, Thank Your Cleaner Day™ is a global initiative for businesses all over the world to recognise the hard work of these often invisible cleaning heroes to let them know they are valued and appreciated. Companies that are cleaned and maintained by cleaning contractors are joining together to support Thank Your Cleaner Day™. Why not join them and take this opportunity to thank the cleaning operatives who are looking after your premises - after all, we all like to feel valued and appreciated. This year’s Thank Your Cleaner Day™ will be held on 17th October 2018, and there are plenty of ways for your business to get involved.

Find out how you can make a difference by visiting www.thankyourcleanerday.com, post your pictures and comments on social using #thankyourcleaner or tell us why your cleaning operative deserves to win a 5* trip to London by nominating them via our social media competition.

Kärcher is partnering with the CSSA plus other cleaning industry associations and cleaning contractors to spread the word and encourage universal recognition on this day.

Background: Kärcher has been supporting the Thank Your Cleaner Day™ project right from the start, from the development of the idea into the campaign that it is today. Kärcher makes the initiative public around the world and supports building service contractors to establish the Thank Your Cleaner Day™ for its customers. Various activities are taking place in companies in order to show appreciation and acknowledgement of their service. Over the years activities have included colourful events such as joint breakfasts, barbecues, and morning and afternoon teas for the cleaning teams.

The feedback from the cleaning industry and the clients celebrating this day with their cleaning contractor has been very positive; Thank Your Cleaner Day™ becomes bigger every year. Seven countries took part in 2017, this year 11 countries are getting ready to showcase their cleaning industry. Information about the planned local activities can be obtained from Kärcher UK or online at www.thankyourcleanerday.com
