Blog: Building on a ‘Blank Canvas’: Losberger De Boer at Decorex International

Working with United Business Media (UBM), Losberger De Boer recently created the central exhibition space for Decorex International 2018 – the UK’s prestigious luxury interiors and design show.

Returning to Syon Park from 16 – 19 September, this year’s show theme was ‘Blank Canvas – how an empty space can celebrate a new beginning.’ Over 400 international exhibitors were showcased within two 50m x 155m Jumbo Halls, providing them with no shortage of room to inspire designers.

“Decorex International is always a hotly anticipated event for interior designers looking for luxury design inspiration, and we relish the challenge of creating space which reflects this heritage.

“Syon Park, as well as being the London home of the Duke of Northumberland, hosts a series of events across the year so it was paramount the large exhibition spaces were built quickly and effectively. In true team spirit, the Losberger De Boer crew built all 19,000 square metres of space in just eleven days.”

The main exhibition space also housed the new drinks bar serving botanically infused cocktails, designed by Lambarte and Browne, a London based commercial interior design team. An evolution of the champagne bar provided by Decorex in previous years, this area of the Jumbo Hall was decorated with ambient lighting and luxury furniture.

In addition to the exhibition space, Losberger De Boer supplied two hexagonal Acropolis pavilions for a luxury street food café and a 20-metre-wide Alu Hall for the restaurant, which has no internal supports enabling visitors and exhibitors to move and mingle freely.
