Blog: KERB Launch New Meatless Market in Collaboration With WeWork

This month, street food trailblazers KERB are collaborating with office space pioneers WeWork for the first time, to launch a meatless market in Devonshire Square. The market will consist of 6 new traders, running every Wednesday to Friday from 26th September.

Since established in 2012, KERB have been pioneers of the street food industry, developing their business concept to diversify into Farmers Markets and now the cutting-edge collaboration with WeWork to present the Meatless Market.

In July this year, WeWork introduced new meat-free policies in order to reduce their environmental impact and save an estimated 445.1m pounds of CO2 emissions by 2023. In their new Devonshire Square location, these forward-thinking policies have created a demand for a cutting edge, lunchtime street food offering in fitting with their ideals. Enter KERB.

In collaboration with WeWork, street food masters KERB are proud to be opening their 10th lunchtime market; and their first that’s entirely meat-free. As well as offering delicious, sustainable street food in keeping with both KERB and WeWork’s ideals, the new market will work as a platform for developing future vegan and vegetarian vending talent, thanks to the ‘inKERBator’ programme.

Just as WeWork continue to grow and incubate their community; KERB’s ‘inKERBator’ programme encourages the startup of new street food traders by providing a unique platform and community that helps them to thrive.

Ian Dodds, Director of Markets at KERB, says “we’re delighted to begin a relationship with WeWork - looking to push the KERB market model forward with a focus on meatless dishes and sustainability. There’s been an explosion of great vegetarian and vegan dishes on the streets of London over the last year and we’ll be showcasing the very best here.”

Leni Zneimer, WeWork’s UK & Ireland General Manager, says “our vision for Devonshire Square is to build a neighbourhood where people can do what they love, and feel part of a community that comes together to work, live and play. KERB is a hugely successful London institution and we're looking forward to welcoming their first meat-free lunchtime market to Devonshire Square.”

To meet the demand of London’s meatless movement, KERB’s roster of meatless/vegan traders has been growing with the likes of Biff’s Jack Shack’s filthy vegan junk food; Greedy Khao’s authentic Thai flavours; and Little Leaf’s vegan pizzas; All of which came through KERB’s ‘inKERBator’ programme. Expect to see a wave of new traders coming through the ranks as well as KERB regulars serving up some of London’s favourite, meat-free dishes.

Every Wednesday to Friday, KERB will be programming a range of their best meatless traders. The first 4 weeks of the market will feature…
