Natural History Museum Named ‘Best UK Venue’ in Prestigious Star Awards

Natural History Museum’s Venue Hire team enjoyed a night of success at the Prestigious Star Awards on March 16th, picking up the highly sought-after ‘Best UK Venue’ award.

The night, held at One Whitehall Place, was a celebration of the world’s best venues for holding memorable events, with 200 global finalists shortlisted from an initial 2,000 nominees. Natural History Museum was nominated for “repeatedly hosting extraordinary events of the highest calibre”; its Hintze Hall re-opening event in 2017 was showcased during the awards ceremony as one of the world’s best events held in the last twelve months.

Against a tough shortlist of respected venues, Habib Amir, Global Managing Director of Prestigious Venues explained the reason for the museum scooping gold:

“The Natural History Museum was very well received during the client voting period as it is entirely unique in what it offers as a venue. The museum has the perfect mix of grandeur, history and location. The epic scale of the event spaces adds an unparalleled sense of occasion to any event and we have no doubt that it will continue to succeed as a world-class venue in the years ahead.”

Robert Wetherell, head of venue hire and catering, says: “We are delighted to win this accolade, especially as we were up against such stiff competition. It was also great being congratulated by so many of our peers on what was a memorable night. The venue hire team at the Museum are a tight-knit, passionate team of events professionals who work tirelessly to deliver world-renowned events and all were integral to the evening’s win.”

The award ceremony also saw Pinstripes and Peonies, accredited suppliers to the venue, highly commended in the category of Best Event Florist.
