LUNCH, CAMERA, ACTION!

Hospitality Action is calling for the industry to unite and take part in one of its low cost, simple and fun fundraising activities on Friday 22nd September 2017. The charity is inviting people to support Lunch Box Day, which encourages employees at companies, restaurants and hotels to donate the money they’d normally spend on lunch to Hospitality Action, or attend a private cinema screening of Top Gun, hosted on the same day at The Soho Hotel, London.

The charity, which is celebrating its 180th birthday is trying to raise a record amount of money this year for those in the industry that need it most.

For those who are keen to get involved in Lunch Box Day companies can do so:

  1. If lunch is a benefit for the team: ask them to bring in a packed lunch and donate the money normally spent on lunch to Hospitality Action

  2. If lunch is not normally a benefit: treat them to lunch and ask the team to donate the money they would normally have spent

There’s also three platters of URBAN eat sandwiches up for grabs for companies that pledge to take part in Lunch Box Day by 11th September*. Simply email fundraising@hospitalityaction.org.uk or tweet @HospAction using #LunchBoxDay for your chance to win.

Penny Moore, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action says: “Lunch Box Day is a really low-cost way of offering your support. I would urge everyone in the industry no matter how large or small your business is to get involved. We’ve seen some very inventive Lunch Box Day celebrations over the past two years and I am excited to see how our supporters will take part again this year.

“For those who can’t take part in Lunch Box Day – or even those that can – we hope they can join us at the end of a busy week to sit back, relax and enjoy one of the most iconic films of all time. Who can resist a Friday night at the movies, especially when it’s for such a good cause?”

The exclusive private cinema screening will start at 7pm, with welcome drinks and a selection of tasty bites at The Soho Hotel from 6pm. Guests will be offered a bag of Propercorn popcorn and an alcoholic drink to enjoy the 80’s classic film Top Gun, starring Hollywood legends Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. The evening is expected to finish at 9pm.

Tickets to the private screening of Top Gun are just £45 per person and can be purchased online www.hospitalityaction.org.uk/events or over the phone 020 3004 5504.
